Alligator or Justin Clamp for Off Camera Flash

The Speedlite is a staple for many photographers on the move. There are many ways to attach a Speedlite or hot shoe flash to a light stand or surface. One of the most useful has to be the incredibly versatile Alligator or Justin Clamp with a cold shoe adaptor which clamps to the hot shoe of the flash enabling use off camera - hence the term “off camera flash”.

Clamped to a vertical pole or post up to 40mm (1 7/16")

Attached to a standard 5/8" 16mm c-stand boom

Standard male 5/8" 16mm light stand
